A Prayer of Intercession for Global Evangelism

In the middle of Isaiah’s prophecy of worldwide judgment, God gives His people a breathtaking glimpse of hope. Even while nations rebel and the earth groans under sin, Isaiah hears songs of worship rising from every direction—from the east, the west, the islands, and the ends of the earth. God’s mission has never changed. He desires worshippers from every tribe, language, people, and nation. As you pray today, intercede for the global Church, missionaries, church planters, Bible translators, and indigenous believers who are carrying the gospel to the nations. Ask God to fulfill His promise by raising up countless new worshippers and causing His glory to fill the whole earth.

Prayer

Father, You’ve promised that the nations will sing Your praises; the East, the West, the islands, the ends of the Earth. I remind You of Your promise. In light of this promise, I pray for the international church. I ask that they’ll be effective at spreading the gospel and grow at great speed. Create vast numbers of worshippers. I intercede for every missionary group. I ask that they’ll be effective at reaching people around the world. Raise up great missionary evangelists and church planters in our day. Reach every unreached people group around the world. Cause the gospel to spread throughout their cultures. Bring people to salvation. Give voice to a new form of worship that only their cultures can express. Empower indigenous evangelists to take the gospel to their people. Instill in them a burden for their people and culture. Do it, in Jesus name, then Lord of the Earth, amen. 

Isaiah 24:14-16a

They raise their voices, they shout for joy; from the west they acclaim the LORD’s majesty. Therefore in the east give glory to the LORD; exalt the name of the LORD, the God of Israel, in the islands of the sea. From the ends of the earth we hear singing: “Glory to the Righteous One.”
