A Prayer to Bring the Kingdom Personally

The kingdom of God is not merely something we wait to experience in the future; it is something Christ desires to express through His people now. Isaiah 32 describes the righteous reign of a king and the influence of those who rule under him: they become shelter from the storm, water in a dry place, and shade in a weary land. That picture challenges us to consider what the reign of Jesus should look like through our own lives. Wherever we go, His righteousness, justice, wisdom, compassion, and refreshing presence should increasingly become visible through us. As you pray today, ask the Holy Spirit to make you a living expression of Christ’s kingdom—someone through whom others encounter truth, protection, wisdom, restoration, and the life of God.

Prayer

Jesus, You reign in righteousness. Your kingdom is coming in power. Help me rule with You in justice; help me to be a source of Your kingdom to others. I will take my seat with You in the heavenly realms, and thus decree Your verdicts in prayer (Ephesians 2:6). I long to manifest the full capacity of everything You purchased on the cross. Make me a shelter for the weak, a stream of refreshing for the spiritually dry and a shade for the those being drained of life. I pray that my life and message will bring revelation to the lost. Cause the blind to be able to see their need for You. Help me to teach them to implement Your kingdom in their life. Bring the fool and the scoundrel to complete repentance and reconciliation. Replace their folly for wisdom. Let Your Spirit guide me in making honorable plans. May the success of these plans enable me to stand head and shoulders upon the rest within my circle of influence in King Jesus’ name I pray, amen

Isaiah 32:1-8

See, a king will reign in righteousness and rulers will rule with justice. Each one will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land. Then the eyes of those who see will no longer be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen. The fearful heart will know and understand, and the stammering tongue will be fluent and clear. No longer will the fool be called noble nor the scoundrel be highly respected. For fools speak folly, their hearts are bent on evil: they practice ungodliness and spread error concerning the Lord; the hungry they leave empty and from the thirsty they withhold water. Scoundrels use wicked methods, they make up evil schemes to destroy the poor with lies, even when the plea of the needy is just. But the noble make noble plans, and by noble deeds they stand.
