A Prayer for Egypt

One of the most astonishing prophecies in Scripture is God’s promise to redeem Egypt—a nation that had long been an enemy of His people. Rather than ending with judgment, Isaiah 19 concludes with hope, healing, and restoration as the Lord promises that Egypt will one day know Him and worship Him. This passage reveals that God’s heart has always been for the nations and that no people are beyond His saving grace. As you pray today, join God’s heart for Egypt by asking Him to bring revival, strengthen His Church, and fulfill His redemptive purposes in that land long before Christ’s kingdom is fully established.

Prayer

Father, I see the promises that You’ve given to Egypt as a nation. Carry out Your promises to them now. Do it before the Millennial kingdom. I ask for a fear of Israel that’ll overcome them. Cause them to seek peace with Israel. Shape their view of Israel as an ally and not an enemy. I ask that they’ll allow the Jews to settle in five of their cities just as you have promised (Vs. 18). Draw Egyptians in mass to Jesus. Create a great awakening in that nation. Make the church of Jesus Christ a stronghold in that land. May policy in that nation will be influenced by the Kingdom of God. You promised, in that day, they’ll create a physical altar to You. Build a spiritual altar there now. Cause prayer and worship will begin to rise out of that nation. The church there will be a people that know You and walk in Your presence. They’ll know Your voice. May holiness, worship and dedication be the norm for these people in Jesus name, amen.

Isaiah 19:16-22

In that day the Egyptians will become weaklings. They will shudder with fear at the uplifted hand that the LORD Almighty raises against them. And the land of Judah will bring terror to the Egyptians; everyone to whom Judah is mentioned will be terrified, because of what the LORD Almighty is planning against them.

In that day five cities in Egypt will speak the language of Canaan and swear allegiance to the LORD Almighty. One of them will be called the City of the Sun. In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the heart of Egypt, and a monument to the LORD at its border. It will be a sign and witness to the LORD Almighty in the land of Egypt. When they cry out to the LORD because of their oppressors, he will send them a savior and defender, and he will rescue them. So the LORD will make himself known to the Egyptians, and in that day they will acknowledge the LORD. They will worship with sacrifices and grain offerings; they will make vows to the LORD and keep them.

The LORD will strike Egypt with a plague; he will strike them and heal them. They will turn to the LORD, and he will respond to their pleas and heal them.
