A Prayer for Comfort and Encouragement for Your People

God’s judgment is not the end of the story. After seasons of hardship, discipline, and suffering, the Lord speaks words of comfort and restoration to His people. Isaiah reminds us that God is both just and merciful, and that His desire is to restore those who turn to Him. Whatever difficult season you may be experiencing, there is hope in knowing that God’s mercy can bring a new beginning.

Prayer

Jesus, give me a word of comfort for Your people. You’ve forgiven their sins and promised them peace. You’ve lavished grace upon us. Help me encourage Your people with the ultimate promise of peace. They’ll experience this reality to the full. Use me to spread comfort and peace in Your name I pray, amen.

Isaiah 40:1-2

“Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.”
