A Prayer for Peace for the Nations
One of the most beautiful promises in Scripture is that God is able to bring peace where generations have known only hostility. Isaiah looked ahead to a day when Egypt, Assyria, and Israel—nations with long histories of conflict, oppression, and bloodshed—would worship the Lord together as one people. Only God can transform enemies into brothers and replace division with worship. As you pray today, ask the Lord to make you a person who leads others toward Christ and intercede for the nations of the world, believing that the Prince of Peace is still able to reconcile hearts, cultures, and kingdoms for His glory.
Prayer
Father, help me to become a vehicle whereby other people can trust in You. Rather than me trusting in their ungodly ways, may they repent and accept the wisdom of God. I also make this request on a national level. I pray that Your kingdom will come in such power that nations that have a history of hostility will embark on a new peace. I pray alliances will be built that will lead to the prosperity. Be the center of these nations in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, amen.
Isaiah 19:23-25
In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egypt and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together. In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth. The Lord Almighty will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance.”
