The Bible says, “If you strike the Shepherd, then the sheep will be scattered (Matthew 26:31).” This means your pastor has a target on his back. The Devil and his demonic hoard long to attack your spiritual leader spiritually, emotionally, relationally and physically. Your leader is under a demonic bombardment that you can’t comprehend. However, we don’t simply feel sorry for them. We pray for them!  Psalms 45 is a prayer for spiritual leaders during Old Testament times, but we have transposed this prayer for our purposes. Join me as we pray for our pastor’s around the world. 

Prayer

Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus declaring that my pastor is a person of excellence. They’re not bound or condemned by perfectionism, but are able to see the beauty of Your coming kingdom and are well able to bring the excellence in their heart to the dominion around them. We thank You, Father, that You’re building a team of people to surround them. This team is incredible and abounding with gifts, skills and talents! Together they’re experiencing an exponential expansion of excellence in their lives, families and ministries. We also ask that their lips be “anointed with grace.” They’ll never walk in intimidation. May they never avoid difficult situations or respond in anger to them. Help them speak the truth in love, and may everyone that speaks with them be captivated by the excellent combination of truth, love, and grace in Jesus’ name, amen.

Psalms 45:1-2 

My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer. You are the most excellent of men and your lips have been anointed with grace, since God has blessed you forever.
