A Prayer for Honor for Your Word

Isaiah reminds us that ignoring God’s truth eventually leads to spiritual blindness, weakness, and loss. God’s Word is not something to treat casually, selectively, or as merely good advice—it is life, wisdom, and protection for those who receive it. When we honor His commands, we position our hearts to walk in understanding and obedience. As you pray today, ask the Holy Spirit to expose any careless attitude toward Scripture and to give you a deeper love, reverence, and willingness to obey everything God has spoken.

Prayer

Father, give me honor for Your word. Let me esteem every command and decree. Holy Spirit, make them dear to my heart. Keep me from having a trifling attitude toward Your laws. If I trivialize Your word, then my bondage is certain. So in light of this, I repent of any internal scoffing toward Your Word. I cling to Your every command in faith, honor and love. Give me a love for Your word in Jesus name, amen.

Isaiah 27:10-15

The fortified city stands desolate, an abandoned settlement, forsaken like the wilderness; there the calves graze, there they lie down, and they strip its branches bare. When its twigs are dry, they are broken off, and women come and make fires with them. For this is a people without understanding; so their Maker has no compassion on them, and their Creator shows them no favor.

In that day the Lord will thresh from the flowing Euphrates to the Wadi of Egypt, and you, Israel, will be gathered up one by one. And in that day a great trumpet will sound. Those who were perishing in Assyria and those who were exiled in Egypt will come and worship the Lord on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.
