Plunder Heaven So You Can Punish Hell

I believe Jesus is coming back again! Many believers, however, are tempted to spend their time waiting on the return of Christ, viewing it as a personal rescue mission. But Jesus is not returning for a church in defeat! Jesus is returning for a church without spot or wrinkle (Ephesians 5:27). Though there can be some varying interpretations to what it means to be a church without spot or wrinkle, the command of Jesus has not changed. He prayed, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Jesus said the gates of hell will not be able to hold against us. We are to be kingdom ambassadors- the kingdom is being brought to earth through us NOW! We are bringing the kingdom in smaller measures, but Jesus is bringing the full measure when He returns.

Here is the bottom line: we are to be on offense, not defense. We are to boldly march out and take enemy territory, not spend our time waiting for that rescue mission and shrinking away from the fight. Pray this prayer based on Amos 5:10-12 that says today you’re going to plunder heaven so you can punish hell. Determine that the kingdom will come through you today!

Prayer

Father, we repent for just wanting You to rescue us from the world instead of seeking to establish Your kingdom on Earth.  We have avoided the hard work thinking Your return is the easy option.  When You intervene it will be much more difficult, but let us engage. Bring the kingdom through us in power. Work through us to establish Your rule in our lives, homes, churches, businesses, and institutions. Let Your kingdom come, let Your will be done on Earth, as it is in Heaven (Matthew 6:10). Bring the Kingdom today in the powerful name of Jesus!

Amos 5:18-20

Woe to you who long for the day of the LordWhy do you long for the day of the LordThat day will be darkness, not light. It will be as though a man fled from a lion only to meet a bear, as though he entered his house and rested his hand on the wall only to have a snake bite him. Will not the day of the Lord be darkness, not light—pitch-dark, without a ray of brightness?
