Jesus is coming soon! We must be ready for his return by living a life of holiness, but we can’t live for God without his grace working powerfully within us. This prayer asks Jesus to cleanse and purify us through the power of God and the grace of God.  Join with me in prayer as we seek to live holy before God. 

Prayer 

Jesus, You’re returning soon, in light of this I pray that You’ll give me a heart for holiness.  Lord, right now I repent of not loving my neighbor…of not walking in love…of not having a passionate love for You…(Fill in the blank with your own sin and short-comings.) You’re the law-giver, and  I don’t want to be a law-breaker. You arrived in history to take away my sin, not witness me continuing in sin. Empower me to break the cycle of sin. I never wish to continue in sin. Give me an absolute resolve to walk in purity and holiness before You. Make me blameless. Make my lifestyle living proof that I’ve truly seen and know You. Thoroughly work Your grace within me. I pray this in Your name, because You are my sanctifier, amen. 

1 John 3:3-6

All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
