A Prayer for Wisdom in Interpreting the Times

There are moments when God is speaking, moving, and revealing His purposes, yet people remain unable to recognize what He is doing. Isaiah describes a vision that was like a sealed scroll—present before the people but beyond their understanding. Spiritual wisdom is more than knowing facts; it is the ability to discern what God is saying and respond appropriately. As you pray today, ask the Holy Spirit to give you revelation, understanding, and wisdom to interpret the times, recognize His activity, and faithfully apply what He reveals to your life, the church, and the world.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, help me to be a person who understands the times and knows what to do about them (1 Chronicles 12:32). Show me what You’re doing. Instill within me revelation knowledge of what You’re saying (Ephesians 1:17). Give me holy insight into Your word. Let nothing be concealed from me regarding Your times and season. Firmly establish my wisdom and its application within my life, Your church and the world. I’ll gladly receive what You’re saying even if I perceive it’s negative. If it comes from You, then help me to receive it with gladness in the name of Jesus I pray, amen.

Isaiah 29:11-12

For you this whole vision is nothing but words sealed in a scroll. And if you give the scroll to someone who can read, and say, “Read this, please,” they will answer, “I can’t; it is sealed.”  Or if you give the scroll to someone who cannot read, and say, “Read this, please,” they will answer, “I don’t know how to read.”
