The Father has called the church to manifest love within the church, then to the world. There are times that we excel at this, but there are also times that we fall short of our calling. This prayer of intercession for the church seeks to see the church filled with love. Pray this prayer for the church along with me, type “amen” in the comments, and share it with friends on your social media platforms.
Prayer:
Father, truth is the foundation of our love, and You’ve commanded Your church to walk in love. My desire is that the church will walk in love. Increase the quality of our relationships and care for one another within the church. Develop within the church deep, intimate, fun-loving, cooperative, supportive and redemptive relationships. Give us a love for the lost that compels us to serve and speak Your truth to them. Finally, I pray we will love the hurting. I ask that compassion will be a hallmark of our communities of faith. You’ve commanded that we walk in love by your grace. We will fulfill this commandment. Manifest the fullness of love within Your people in Jesus’ name, the giver of love.
2 John 1:5-6
And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
