The healing of the blind man at Bethsaida is one of the most fascinating moments in the Gospels—Jesus prays twice before the man’s sight is fully restored. It’s not because He lacked power; it’s because He was revealing a truth about persistence. Some miracles require us to keep praying, to keep believing, and to keep trusting even when the first attempt doesn’t seem to “work.” This prayer helps us cultivate the kind of faith that refuses to quit too soon.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, if Jesus had to pray for a person two times before the miracle manifested, how much more persistent do I need to be? Help me to be persistent. I refuse to give up too soon in regard to laying hands on the sick. Give me greater grace, anointing and power to heal the sick. While I’m growing in these things, give me the persistence to keep praying until the miracle comes in Jesus name, amen.

Mark 8:22-26

They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?”

He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”

Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. Jesus sent him home, saying, “Don’t even go into the village.”
