Many of the great spiritual giants within the scriptures interceded for the people in their land.  These prophets not only pointed out the sin of the people, but they also prayed heart-wrenching prayers for their peers. Their truth proclaiming was always accompanied by compassionate intercession.  If we’re going to see revival in the land, then we must follow the examples of the prophets. We must proclaim the truth and pray with compassion.  Join with me in praying this short prayer for the people in your and my land. This prayer is based on Hosea 4:14-19.  (This passage is listed below.) Let this short prayer be a sample of revival prayer that can be expanded upon and shared with friends.  Let’s pray boldly together!

Prayer

Lord, we pray for the people in the land from churchgoers to atheists.  All people, both men and women, are consumed with drunkenness, idolatry and sexual sin.  The people in the land stubbornly hold on to their sin.  Pry sin from the grip of their hearts.  Cause them to turn to You so they are not swept away by the whirlwind of their own foolishness. Move in our land in the name of Jesus!

Hosea 4:14-19

“I will not punish your daughters when they turn to prostitution,
nor your daughters-in-law when they commit adultery, because the men themselves consort with harlots and sacrifice with shrine prostitutes—a people without understanding will come to ruin! “Though you, Israel, commit adultery, do not let Judah become guilty. “Do not go to Gilgal; do not go up to Beth Aven. And do not swear, ‘As surely as the Lord lives!’ The Israelites are stubborn, like a stubborn heifer. How then can the Lord pasture them like lambs in a meadow? Ephraim is joined to idols; leave him alone! Even when their drinks are gone, they continue their prostitution; their rulers dearly love shameful ways. A whirlwind will sweep them away, and their sacrifices will bring them shame.
