When Jesus called the twelve disciples, His desire was not only that they would follow Him but that they would be with Him, learn His ways, and carry His message to the world. That same call is extended to us today. This prayer invites us to lean into that call of discipleship, asking the Lord to draw us closer so we can reflect Him more fully. As you read and pray through this passage, let it stir your heart toward a deeper walk with Christ. Share this with someone who is also seeking to grow in their discipleship journey.

Prayer

Jesus, just as You called Your disciples to Yourself, You’re calling me to greater discipleship. Draw me close to You so I can learn Your ways. Pour into my life so I can be an accurate representative of You on earth. Draw me to You in Jesus’ name, amen.

Mark 3:13-19

Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him. He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons. These are the twelve he appointed: Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter), James son of Zebedee and his brother John (to them he gave the name Boanerges, which means “sons of thunder”), Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.
