A Prayer for Church Unity

Psalm 133 celebrates the beauty and power of unity among God’s people. It likens that unity to precious oil running down Aaron’s beard and to the life-giving dew on Mount Zion—both images of God’s blessing and anointing. In today’s divided world, this kind of unity is not only rare but deeply needed in the Church. This prayer calls on Jesus, the head of the Church, to bring His body into harmony so that His power, presence, and blessing can flow freely.

Jesus, unify Your church. As we’re unified, then allow the anointing to flow. Let Your blessings flow from the head of the church to its toes. Bless our leaders and let the anointing flow from them in Jesus name, amen.

How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.
