Mark 14:10–11 offers a sobering glimpse into how unresolved sin quietly matures into devastating consequences. Judas does not fall suddenly—his betrayal is the result of small compromises left unchecked over time. This passage warns us that hidden sin, when ignored, eventually demands a greater price. Today’s prayer invites honest self-examination and timely repentance, asking God for the grace to confront sin at its earliest stage so it does not grow into something that destroys our calling, our witness, or our intimacy with Him.
Prayer
Father, the sin I refuse to repent of will be the sin that destroys me. Judas had his hand in the money bag of Jesus (John 12:6) and because he didn’t deal with his greed and thievery, he ended up selling out Jesus. Help me deal with the apparent little sins now. If I deal with them now, they won’t consume me later. Give me the grace to abort embryonic sins before they grow into the monsters that consume me in Jesus’ name, amen.
Mark 14:10-11
Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus to them. They were delighted to hear this and promised to give him money. So he watched for an opportunity to hand him over.
