Sometimes those who follow Jesus with radical devotion are misunderstood—even by their own families. When Jesus’ family tried to take charge of Him, thinking He was out of His mind, He showed us that wholehearted obedience often looks strange to the world. This prayer encourages us to support and uplift our family members who pursue God’s will with passion, rather than holding them back. As you pray, ask God to give you a heart that champions others in their pursuit of Him. Share this with a friend or family member who may need encouragement today.
Prayer
Jesus, I have family members that go all out for You. My prayer is that I’ll be supportive of them. Many assume they’re crazy, but I hope to be a support for them. I’ll encourage them in their pursuit of You. I never desire to force them into a mold that’s established by society or our family. I’ll join them in the pursuit of You. Work this attitude within me in the name of Jesus, amen.
Mark 3:20-21
Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat. When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”
