We’re beginning a powerful journey through the Gospel of Mark, a book that opens with urgency and purpose. In Mark 1:1–3, we see the prophetic call to prepare the way for Jesus—a call that still goes out today. John the Baptist’s mission wasn’t just for his time; it points to how our lives can make room for Jesus to move in the world around us. Prayer

Father, just as John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus and his message use my life to prepare the way for him and his message through my life. Everywhere I go whether at work, family gatherings, stores or businesses, I’ll sow seeds of the gospel that’ll result in people following Jesus. I pray this in His wonderful name. May it be done.

The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God, as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: “I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way—a voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.
