Psalm 125 reminds us that trust in the Lord is not wishful thinking—it’s a foundation as steady and immovable as Mount Zion. Those who place their confidence in God are not easily shaken by life’s turmoil. This psalm offers reassurance that God surrounds His people with steadfast protection and promises justice for those who remain upright. The prayer that follows is a heartfelt request to be rewarded for trust and goodness, offered in the name of Jesus, our perfect example of righteousness. Feel free to share this reflection and prayer with others who need encouragement to remain rooted in trust and faith.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, give me an unwavering trust in You and an absolute commitment to goodness. Watch over and surround me and all Your people. I rest in Your secure care! Reward me according to my trust in You and my good deeds. I ask this in Jesus’ name, the ultimate good One.

Psalms 125:1-5

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore. The scepter of the wicked will not remain over the land allotted to the righteous, for then the righteous might use their hands to do evil. Lord, do good to those who are good, to those who are upright in heart. But those who turn to crooked ways the Lord will banish with the evildoers. Peace be on Israel.
