Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, the veil has been torn and we now have bold access to the Father’s presence. This prayer invites you to reflect on the beauty and cost of that access and to respond with gratitude, devotion, and daily pursuit of God’s presence. As you read and pray, let your heart be drawn into deeper friendship with the Father and a renewed appreciation for what Christ secured for you through His death. Prayer

Jesus, You died to tear the veil and give me access to the Father. You not only died for my sins, You also died that I may enter Your presence. You did this so I can become Your friend. You desire to walk in the garden with me (Genesis 3:8). Thank You for forgiveness. Help me to expedite the marvelous opportunity to know You. May I never squander a moment that’ll take me into Your presence. Remind me to practice Your presence all day long. You offered the perfect sacrifice. It was both a horrendous and beautiful sacrifice. Assist me in obtaining everything You died for me to have. I love You. My life is Yours in Jesus’ name, amen.

Mark 15:35-41

When some of those standing near heard this, they said, “Listen, he’s calling Elijah.” Someone ran, filled a sponge with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to take him down,” he said. With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last. The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died, he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God!” Some women were watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joseph, and Salome. In Galilee these women had followed him and cared for his needs. Many other women who had come up with him to Jerusalem were also there.
