Psalm 126 captures the deep joy of restoration after hardship—when God turns sorrow into laughter and loss into abundance. It’s a testimony of divine faithfulness and a reminder that seasons of weeping are not wasted when sown in God’s presence. This prayer draws from that beautiful truth, asking God to bring purpose out of pain and restoration from every loss. As you pray, reflect on what God has already redeemed in your life—and share this post with someone who’s still waiting for their joy to break through.
Prayer
Father, restore me. Use my pain for my growth, development and benefit. Return to me everything I’ve lost. When I’m in seasons of loss give me the wisdom to sow those tears in Your presence. Bring forth a harvest of joy and an abundant blessing! Bring forth redemption from my season of discipline! Give my pain a purpose in Jesus name, the One that learned obedience (Hebrews 5:8-9).
Psalms 126:1-6
When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Restore our fortunes, Lord, like streams in the Negev. Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them. If this prayer blessed you, share it with someone who needs hope today. Let’s spread faith, one prayer at a time.
