In Mark 11:15–19, we see Jesus enter the temple and confront what had quietly corrupted a place meant for prayer. His actions remind us that God cares deeply about what fills the spaces reserved for Him—not just in buildings, but in our hearts. Today’s prayer invites Jesus to search us, cleanse us, and restore true worship within us. As you pray, allow the Holy Spirit to lovingly expose what doesn’t belong. If this prayer resonates with you, consider sharing it with someone who desires a purified heart before God.
Prayer
Jesus, come and cleanse me. My temple needs purging. The sinful man within me lusts for money and convenience-based religion. Drive this out of my heart with Your whip. The spaces that should’ve been reserved for the lost have been filled with commercialized religion. Forgive me. Give me wisdom in matters of genuine worship. I ask this in Your name, amen.
Mark 11:15-19
On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’” The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching. When evening came, Jesus and his disciples went out of the city.
