Mark 1:9–11 captures a sacred moment—Jesus being baptized, the heavens opening, and the Spirit descending in love and power. It’s a picture of divine pleasure and heavenly affirmation. This prayer is a heartfelt desire for that same open heaven and Spirit-empowered life. Prayer

Abba, just as Jesus’ willingness to be water baptized led to the Spirit’s decent and an open heaven, I ask to follow his example in humble obedience. Rip the heavens open! My desire is for there to be an open heaven with open communication with access and answers flowing continually from Your throne to me. May the Holy Spirit come upon me in power. I’m asking that everything I do be done in Your power, anointing and strength in the name of Jesus I pray, amen.

Mark 1:9-11

At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”
