God’s invitation in Isaiah is both simple and profound: obedience leads to blessing, while rebellion leads to destruction. The Lord does not force our hearts—He invites our willing obedience. This prayer asks the Holy Spirit to shape our hearts so that we willingly follow God’s ways and experience the goodness He desires for His people.
Prayer
Holy Spirit, give me a willing and obedient heart. I know, if I have these, You will prosper me. I long to enjoy the best of what our land has to offer. Reward my piety with practical blessing. If I turn to sin, then I know I’ll be given over to the consequences of those behaviors in Jesus’ name, amen.
Isaiah 1:19-20
If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land; but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.” For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
