After healing the leper, Jesus gives a surprising command—don’t tell anyone. In Mark 1:43–45, we’re reminded that even miraculous moments aren’t meant for personal glory. This prayer invites us to approach ministry and influence with humility, resisting the urge to draw attention to ourselves. As you pray, consider who else might be encouraged by this message of quiet faithfulness, and feel free to share this post with them.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, when You use me to accomplish a task, give me a willingness to keep it quiet. I’ll point people to You. Keep me from taking any glory for myself. Help me to never do anything, no matter how subtle, that would feed my ego in the name of Jesus I pray, amen.

Mark 1:43-45

Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning: “See that you don’t tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.” Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.
