In Mark 6:30–34 the disciples return from ministry both weary and excited, and Jesus welcomes their reports before drawing them aside for rest. Their example shows us that faithful service flows from both action and renewal in Christ’s presence. As you reflect on this passage and pray, ask God to make your ministry fruitful and your heart refreshed in Him. If this prayer strengthens your desire to serve, consider sharing it with a friend so together you can inspire others to minister with both passion and balance.
Prayer
Father, make me effective like Jesus’ disciples were. Send me out under the authority of the name of Jesus. Work miracles through me. Let me give testimony to what You’ve done. Give me a safe place where I can share and no one will be jealous. I ask for a mentor that can instruct me on how to be more effective. I ask this in the name of Jesus, the One who has been given all authority.
Mark 6:30-34
The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place. But many who saw them leaving recognized them and ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.
